About IRRDO:
IDIL (IRRDO) is non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-partisan organization registered in Somalia, established to assist and support the most vulnerable and desperate population living in in Bay,Bakool, lowershabelle,and Banadir Regions, to alleviate suffering, hunger, poverty and transform lives through a sustainable, integrated community centered development strategy.
The organization was incepted in 2005 by a group of young professionals with different background experiences with various humanitarian and emergency operation’s background, who have developed both academically and professionally to fulfill the need in this dire situation during the current emergency relief vacuum resulting from the ongoing waves of humanitarian challenges that has caused the intervention area to shrink more than ever due to insecurity. IDIL (IRRDO) is geared towards the improvement of the living standards for the vulnerable communities with a concern of long time viability of various programmes adjusted and fine-tuned to meet the needs of the communities.
In the light of the above context, IDIL (IRRDO) stood up to take over that courageous role and undertake a broad mission integrated activities of emergency, relief and advocacy for peace & human rights and to cover up the increasing array needs of vulnerable communities living in parts of in Bay,Bakool, lowershabelle and Banadir Regions, for the purpose of helping them during the dire situation caused by the collapse of their livelihood.
IDIL: Develops community based development initiatives include livelihood support schemes. The organization is also focused on the provision of Food Aid and Food Security, Water, hygiene and sanitation, Health, emergency and advocacy programmes in collaboration with donors, UN agencies and the international humanitarian organization to vulnerable communities. IDIL: conducts appropriate assessment & research in the respective regions to analyze as accurately as probable the real situation on ground & properly address them in line with appropriate predetermined strategies.
Vision
Provision of solution to improved livelihood, emergency and relief activities to meet the basic needs facing the lives of the communities and achievement of sustainable and integrated community development from all walks of lives to improve livelihoods and advocate for peace and human rights as long-term viabilities.

Mission statement
(IRRDO) promotes Food aid, livelihood,Protection, Health, Nutrition and Water hygiene sanitation and brings positive change in sustainable social economic development through appropriate programs that include cash transfers, cash for work interventions and economic empowerment initiatives for the most vulnerable communities. Drawing strength our areas of diversity, resources and social experiences, IDIL promotes innovated solutions and facilitates the improvement of community health, peace, justice, culture and moral values through community participation approach.
Objectives
To contribute the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger primary causes through improvement of the livelihood of rural households in in Bay,Bakool, lowershabelle, and Banadir Regions in Somalia.
Improve the capacity of IDIL (IRRDO) staff, civil society organizations and community stakeholders to jointly promote appropriate techniques in delivery of relief and emergency services to the poor.
- Promote productivity, stability and diversity of vulnerable settled rural and urban household’s production systems in order to reduce erosive coping strategies and recurrent food shortages.
- Create water conservation and rain harvesting systems as well as promote sanitation and hygiene practice.
- Provide Education for peace, for personal development and for the development of culture and moral values (i.e promote the diffusion and practice of genuine Islamic principles and values)
- Promoting grass root community based peace building for the community and youth.
- Provide psychosocial counseling for psychologically affected community members to reduce the effect of trauma.
- Contribute community’s empowerment and mobilization for health, and development and participate in community initiatives.
